The Office for Leadership and Social Responsibility (LSR) is located within the Centre for Student Support Services (CSSS) under the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Student development and Support (SDS). The department is grounded by the principles of creating, leading and sustaining the change through its programmes, projects and volunteer opportunities. In view of this, the department seeks to employ a suitable co-ordinator.


The Key Performance Areas Include The Following

Coordinate and deliver all administrative and operational requirements of departmental programmes

Develop and create innovative support resources for departmental offerings and

initiatives and coordinate and maintain digital platforms and media presence for departmental programmes

Coordinate and provide programme awareness, recruitment and selection efforts as well as training and facilitation in line with

departmental goals

Coordinate and oversee monitoring and evaluation of relevant projects and programmes

Provide regular, ongoing progress reports on programme offerings, as well as produce written operational and evaluation reports

on student offerings

Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to enhance support initiatives for students

Engage actively in relevant research

Support the Manager and Director with broader operational and strategic matters where required

Must be prepared to work over weekends where required

Minimum Requirements


Minimum Requirements

A Honours Degree or equivalent;

3-5 years’ relevant work experience within student leadership and or student affairs

Facilitation experience

Experience in coordination of projects and programmes within a student development context

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: (skills, knowledge and behavioural attributes)

Advanced computer skills (Ms Office Package)

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to pay attention to detail

Planning and organising skills

Strong administrative, planning and organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Report writing

Analytical Skills

Facilitation skills

Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
