Your Role


As Deputy Principal focussing upon the Junior Secondary school, you will have responsibility for leading (but not limited to) the following:

Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

Deputise for the Principal when required.

Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.

Embed socially just practices in daily school life.

Set high standards for student and staff performance.

Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.

Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.

Be futures oriented and strategic.

Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.

Manage resources to achieve goals.


Your role will also include working collaboratively with the leadership team in the implementation of the school's explicit improvement agenda including:

Learning Progression for all students, Reading, Writing and Thinking proficiency across the Australian Curriculum, and Senior Curriculum Strengthening Senior Outcomes Reducing teaching learning variability in impact.


In addition to this, you will support staff capability development through:

A problem of practice approach to improvement, collaborative empowerment through leading the growth of Professional Learning Teams, and strengthening the implementation of the Cycle of Inquiry through Line Management of 4 faculty areas.


A mandatory requirement of this role is:
