About the business


Vontero has been at the forefront of the candle making industry since the early 2000’s and is now on a remarkable growth journey. Our purpose is to inspire creativity and business success within the candle and home fragrance industry.


The founders originally created one of Australia’s most well-known candle brands, Ecoya, widely known for introducing soy wax candles to Australia and New Zealand. Following the sale of Ecoya, Eroma was created to service the many other candle makers in the home fragrance industry. As part of the Vontero Group, Eroma now leads the industry with multiple distribution facilities across Australia. We are unique in that we not only import and supply candle makers with all their raw materials, we also manufacture a lot of these materials in Australia and China.


About the role


The aim of this role is to assist the “Head of People & Culture” in effectively implementing strategic HR initiatives. The focus will be on getting the right people, in the right seats with clear accountabilities, whilst developing a high performing culture aligned with our company values.


Due to our rapid growth, a big part of this role will be to assist with the recruitment, so we find great people and then effectively onboard and train them.


The Search - Ensure the role is well defined, with clear accountabilities. Ensure the best recruitment channels are utilised. Ensure the best candidates are attracted - Write, place and manage adverts.


Interviewing - Screen CVs - shortlist and manage communication. Telephone, zoom and video screen potential applicants. Organise 2nd interviews and CEO interviews. Effectively use profiling tools, organise psychometric testing. Conduct deep and meaningful reference checks.


Hiring/ Orientation - Put together employment contracts and employment packs. Onboard employees, so they understand their new role/ accountabilities, track their key results, and have access to relevant SOPs, systems and tools. Organise CEO orientation (company story/vision) and on-the-job training


In addition, the successful candidate will need to assist in managing other standard HR processes:

Quarterly


Activities - Organise quarterly conversations to ensure everyone is aligned and rowing in the same direction, and crystal clear on what’s working and not working. Help managers identify delegation opportunities and plans. Coordinate leadership/ manager training sessions. Assist with talent identification, development and succession planning.

Annual Activities - Organise annual reviews and ensure managers use our “People Analyzer” tool. Prepare/ file the review. Roll-out surveys and collate data to determine the state of our company. Organise staff functions/ activities, including Wellbeing initiatives.


Performance Management/ Termination - Assist managers in addressing performance management issues. Communicate with EmploySure in regard to Industrial Relations matters.


System/ Process Reviews - Assist in researching better HR platforms and systems. Assist in reviewing HR tools and processes to enhance performance


About you


The successful HR Coordinator will be good at building relationships at all levels and have strong communication skills in addition to being detail-oriented and organised. While the ability to work independently is crucial, the HR Coordinator will need to be able to connect people and enjoy working in a positive, high energy team environment.


Previous recruitment experience - Essential HR and/ or business degree - Highly regarded Friendly, warm and professional communication skills Strong administrative skills Drive to learn, develop and achieve! Ability to be hands on, teamwork is essential! Strong attention to detail Proactive and positive attitude IT savvy – Able to use Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneDrive, Survey Monkey, Zoom, SparkHire,


You will need to be good at screening applicants to ensure they perfectly fit our values and provide us with evidence of their performance in similar roles. You will be confident in taking control and steering the interviewing/ screening process eg dig deep/ ask probing questions.


You will also be good at attracting excellent candidates and selling them our story and vision.
