KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

•Inspection and testing

Conduct inspections

Set up and operate laboratory equipment in preparation for tests

Prepare specimens or material for testing

Perform routine and ad-hoc tests and procedures (e.g. preparation of material)

Trace and record results

•Equipment maintenance

Monitor and record functionality of equipment

Execute maintenance and calibration activities

Clean equipment and supplies

•Laboratory administration

Complete and distribute accurate and complete documentation

(e.g. data cards, job cards)

Maintain laboratory records and inventory for supplies

•Safety and house keeping

Comply with relevant safety and quality standards and regulations

Clean work areas

Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard general housekeeping and maintenance operations in a laboratory

Generate clear and specific operating procedures

Assist with the implementation of methods

Store supplies and distribute a variety of items throughout the laboratory

Assist with all necessary laboratory activities as and when required
