Role Context

Provide operational support to ongoing Disaster Responses among Tharisa Minerals; Develop a Disaster Response methodology in line with the World Relief Integral Mission Framework and South Africa Disaster management regulation; Develop project plans and timelines for accomplishing outstanding tasks; Ensure an updated version of the emergency plan is available and that the plan meets applicable laws, regulations, and standards for your healthcare organization; Develop After Actions Reports and review lessons learned;

Work with the Emergency Management Committee in preparing an annual report on the emergency management program; Communicating with stakeholders on both the inside and outside of the organization for which they work; Meet with public safety officials, private companies, and the general public to get recommendations regarding emergency response plans; Disaster management coordinators must communicate with colleagues, subordinates, supervisors, members of the public, and more;Researching and compiling information relevant to emergency procedures; Investigate best practices with respect to emergency preparedness and incorporate them into the plan; Prepare and analyze damage assessments following disasters or emergencies, Investigate emergency incidents and put preventative measures in place; Responsible for emergency risk assessment, action plan and review thereof; Assess hazards and prepare plans to respond to emergencies and disasters in order to minimize risk to people and property;

Core work outputs:

Coordinate and propose all capital and significant operational requests to support emergency preparedness , Help design, develop, coordinate, and implement organization-wide and site-specific training regarding the various elements of the emergency management program , Ensure that the Emergency Management Call Lists are up to date and functional, Organize and maintain all files related to emergency ; Coordinate the sharing of resources and equipment within the community and across communities to assist in responding to an emergency; Organize emergency response training programs and exercises for staff, volunteers, and other responders; Review emergency plans of individual organizations, such as medical facilities, to ensure their adequacy; Apply for federal funding for emergency management planning, responses and recovery and report on the use of funds allocated;

Maintain facilities used during emergency operations; Liaise with Mines Rescue Team where applicable in responding to emergencies, which require their assistance.
